Kindergarten Belonging and Contributing Kindergarten Program (2016) These learning activities offer your children the opportunity to deepen their knowledge by strand of study. Student learning in the 2016 Kindergarten Program includes four strands of study.
Belonging and contribution This strand allows students to explore sequences and algebraic expressions. Students will learn to code and apply the mathematical modelling process to make predictions in everyday life.
Self-Regulation and Well-Being This strand allows students to learn and develop certain aspects: understanding of their thoughts and feelings and respect for others, in order to evaluate the consequences of their actions and develop their awareness of their impact on their physical and mental health and that of others.
Problem-solving and innovation This strand allows students to develop the confidence to imagine and explore innovative ideas by solving problems through active curiosity and analytical thinking about their relationships with others, materials and the environment.
Demonstrating Literacy and Mathematical Behaviours This strand allows students to learn and develop their ability to communicate thoughts and feelings in various ways (language, pictures, materials) to express themselves and think critically about ideas and emotions. Mathematical learning is demonstrated in how students use the concepts of numbers, sequences, and patterns during play and investigation.
