For a Better World

  • Grade 5
  • French
  • Reading

Description

In this activity, students reflect on the role of fables in their lives and in society. They read fables to identify the message and moral (whether stated or implied) and then discuss them. Students use the "questioning" reading strategy, asking themselves questions about the messages conveyed in order to deepen their understanding of the text and develop a critical perspective. In the final task, students work in pairs to identify possible actions or gestures that could make the world a better place, based on one of the morals presented in the mission.
