Description

In this activity, students listen to and read opinion pieces, identify points of view, and use reading strategies to deepen their understanding of suggested texts. Students respond to a text in a podcast-style recording, reflecting on the theme presented and developing their digital citizenship and media literacy skills. An opinion text on young people's biological clock in a Centre franco online textbook is used in the "Je passe à l'action" section of the activity, where the student must read the text and answer two multiple-choice questions. The student must then prepare a podcast in response to the opinion text. When you open the link to the resource, you will be asked to choose an Ontario French-language school board and log in to a school account. If this is not possible, you can find an opinion text on a topic that might interest your child and ask them to prepare a podcast in response to this new text.

Learning goals

  • I make connections with my personal experiences.
  • I express an opinion about the whole text.
