Franco Talks
- Grade 7
- French
- Reading
Description
In this activity, students learn about language issues as well as a news story about the Francophone situation in Canada. Students deepen their understanding of the national interest story affecting Canada’s Francophone communities. Afterwards, students answer interview questions individually or as a group in a podcast-style recording to interact and reflect on the topic presented.
An opinion text on young people's biological clock in a Centre franco online textbook is used in the "Je passe à l'action" section of the activity, where the student must read the text and answer two multiple-choice questions. The student must then prepare a podcast in response to the opinion text. When you open the link to the resource, you will be asked to choose your child's school board (Ontario French-language school board) and log in to their school account. If this is not possible, you can find an opinion text on a topic that might interest your child and ask them to prepare a podcast in response to this new text.
